All Senate Democrats voted for the resolution except for Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman, who has argued that cutting off the President’s authority mid-campaign would send the wrong message.

Can we please kick this asshole out of the democratic party for fuck sake???

That makes you an accomplice to a war criminal.

We should do something about that in 2028.

“We should let him finish the job,” Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said Tuesday, voicing support for a U.S.-Israeli air campaign that began five days ago

This administration doesn’t even know what “finish the job” looks like, you fucking Russian tool.

Lady Lindsey has never seen a war it didn’t love to sell arms for. You should have seen it creaming all over itself on Meet the Press the day after the attacks started.

Fetterman is the modern day Brutus to the DNC, the quintessential “backstabber” that keeps on stabbing.

I am quite sure that at some point - hopefully soon - the narrative will be “don’t blame us, it was all that awful Trump’s fault. It was just one rogue president!”

No, it wasn’t. This belongs to all of you.

Which is why the Constitution gives the exclusive power to initiate war to the Congress. They’re supposed to have skin in the game and fear for reelection if they enter into an unpopular war. It’s not just that they didn’t trust the office most inclined to go to war to make the decision, they wanted to spread responsibility across the branch most responsive to public opinion so they couldn’t dodge responsibility.

I think the Republicans in Congress truly believe that Trump is going to be able to stop the next election cycle. So they have no fear of losing their place.

cutting off the President’s authority mid-campaign would send the wrong message

Hey Fetterman, the message we want to send is “Don’t fucking start wars in random non-aggressive countries on behalf of Israel”. That’s absolutely the right message which should be sent right at this moment you asshole.

This is backwards. Congress did not need to pass such a resolution. The president needs to ask permission.

Good thing the mod log exists, because today I learned that it is antisemitic to call out the actions of a nation (israel in this case). I mean if it was not for these very reasonable actions by mods I might have thought that the state of israel is not the sum of all Jews. Whew that was almost too close to a nuanced view on the modern geopolitical situation.

Really saved us all from thinking here.

They will actively combat that state, since “woke” is something they were trained to believe is bad.

These people are still sleepwalking after they supposedly voted for dimbulb donnie because “price of eggs”.

Dimbulb donnie gets into office and proclaims “affordability is a hoax”, and Republicans steal many necessary safety nets right out from many people, and these dipshits still have not removed their lips from around the base of dimbulb donnie’s mushroom.

This needs to be referenced next time an american tries to tell any of us that they still have a real nation with functioning rule of law.
