Someone literally writes “Anti-ICE” on a bullet casing with what looks like a Sharpie? Is this The Onion? And shoots detainees because they hate ICE? Does that make any sense to anyone?
Here’s a better theory: ICE killed a couple of detainees and they couldn’t even stage a “fake attack by leftists” story. Motivation makes no sense and multiple people are dead including, conveniently, the sniper.

Then the people at ICE decided that the last thing they wanted was for this to increase sympathy for immigrants so they hastily scrawled “ANTI-ICE” (about the least plausible “Fuck you” anyone has ever put on a munition… That’d be like some Tommy in WW2 writing “ANTI-GERMAN” on his grenade… No, you write something funny like “Catch!”) on single cartridge out of a stack of five, using a sharpie from the front desk, because they saw it in the news recently with the Charlie Kirk stuff and figured it would seem plausible.
They also invented that ICE shot three detainees, two of whom are SURVIVING WITNESSES. Don’t encourage this bullshit. Just wait for the facts.

I’m not sure what the shooter’s motivations were, but he appears to have shot the van they were in multiple times and not have had any visual on his targets, meaning he could have been aiming for the ICE. It’s hard to say for sure.

If that’s the case, the ICE agents would be in the front of the van and the detainees would have been in the back. So how do the detainees get shot but the ICE agents are fine if the shooter was targeting agents?
Again, we don’t know for sure, but it’s not uncommion for the Agents themselves to ride in the back and all jump out on location to perform a surprise raid.
Sounds like he was shooting up the general area, and the van included. Maybe not even thinking about it and could have been shooting the back of a van, for all I know.
Given the background of the shooter, I don’t think he was thinking too much about the nuanced strategy and results, he was a 4-chan troll turned shooter, with maybe a bit of a libetarian bent, but mostly a generally nihilistic guy losing his mind in the cesspits of discussions.

Could be a mix of the two. Could be an ICE officer who was off duty. We don’t even know who they are hiring or who they are redirecting from what agency. Or it could just be someone who wanted to be ICE or were rejected by them.

Based on other reporting, sounds like it’s as much likely he thought it would be ‘funny’ to set the world on fire a bit rather than standing for any particular ideology. It really, really feels like a false flag, either completely or partially staged. The single round in a… stripper clip? with the phrase “anti ice” hastily written on ONE bullet is bad enough, but the tweet by Patel really sealed it, both in terms of posting evidence in a murder case on social media, and the fact that he said “empty casings were engraved” as he posted the picture of non-empty bullet casings with sharpie markings. It seems like they tried to do something hasty and rapid here and made a lot of mistakes.

I find it really fucking weird that ever since Luigi all the killers write something on the bullets and it’s supposed to tell us what side they were on. So I’m not saying he wrote this and that he was “anti-ICE”, I’m just saying that both sides will no claim he was from the other side. One because of what he supposedly wrote on the bullet, the other because of who he hit.
If the shooter was actually Anti-ICE and chose to write something on the casings, they would write something other than “Anti-ICE”. That’s not even a message.
