This is the sort of striving, adolescent bullshit I would expect from a child, not from a grown man.

Fuckin’ Gravy Seals… Mofos think that anyone nonwhite is a potential “terrorist” with more guns in their house than the Taliban, and they’re chomping at the bit to be let loose and go raid with all guns blazing then drop death ace cards on the corpses and call it a beer day.

There do exist Etsy shops churning out MAGAt merch, and won’t be surprised those coins are also being sold as custom made.

Decades from now, after their parents pass, kids will be sorting through the parents stuff and find one of these or some other trump crap. They will react the same way my generation did when sorting through our parents stuff and finding nazi shit. “Oh God I hope they weren’t really into this shit!” My dad had a medal of some sort with a swastika on it. It was probably something his father collected in the war. It went into the garbage where it belonged. Garbage dumps of the future will be filled with trump shit.

A lot of them aren’t. They’re just decorative, they don’t need to be shaped like an actual coin.

I think I’m gonna need more proof on this one. Not just one guy that works in an office who attached an image in an email.

It’s kinda got all the classic markers. Superbly outlandish yet just believable enough. Confirms everyone’s preexisting beliefs.

Buddy fucked up lil “challenge coin” trinkets have been a depressingly common part of military/law enforcement since forever, the burden of proof here is light as a feather. There are galleries of em ranging from relatively banal tough guy “devil dog” marines stuff with their absolutely ripped fursona to unquotable “n-word lynchers” shit with nooses etc from southern police/sheriff departments. This is a weird one to call out

Oh, you can’t just casually drop “absolutely ripped fusona” around these parts without dropping a link to the image.

‘just like the totenkopf’ except not at all. They’re nazis because of the nazi shit they do not because somebody made a challenge coin with an extremely basic toughguy badass tacticool motif.

Skulls have been common imagery for literally centuries, I do not understand this weird trend in the last few years where some people have decided that they’re exclusively a fascist symbol.

*Also the absurdity here of pointing at the fucking brownshirts and going ‘umm, that imagery is a bit problematic.’

Are you seriously looking at this slop and thinking anybody was giving it a deeper consideration than ‘haha fuck yeah, badass’. I refuse to believe they’re thinking any more about the symbolism of the skull with the glowing eyes than they’re thinking about the symbolism of the explosion.

The only fascist part of the imagery is the border team names on the chests. Or just generally the celebration of their mission. The skull is possibly the least fascist thing on the coin.

makes sense if you know the context. this is from the sketch comedy series The Mitchell and Webb Look, which was aired on BBC Two at the time, and later with higher quality on BBC HD… anyway the man pictured is David Mitchell and his mouth is the organ he most often uses to talk.

While Webb, by contrast, presumably talks more often out of his ass? Or was there some other organ which you were implying was from whence the subtitles should be flowing?

nah I just tried a bait and switch. thought it would be funny to start the comment with info about the show like it was going to be something about the show or something, then end it with the most obvious “yeah so the subtitles come out of his mouth because that’s where he speaks from” which makes the entire first half also irrelevant and stupid.

i say “i thought it would be funny” like it didn’t turn out to be so but i still think it’s hilarious; kinda proud of the comment to be honest.

New era my dude. The baddy is now Cletus, or Stephen. As a German, I would have preferred if the US had learned from our mistakes, but at least they are the assholes now and we can finally get some rest.

Germany: party left of the GDP GOP gains some traction.

Oh AfD 100% baddies. That’s not a question. I’m talking about the country, because the AfD is not in government at the moment and even if, they wouldn’t be able to govern alone, our system doesn’t accept that, at least as long as they aren’t in a spectacular majority. The US failed spectacularly at implementing checks and balances. AfD beyond baddies. USA as well.

Babe, wake up, the new Nazi memorabilia just dropped!

… this is going to age like unpasteurized milk in an outhouse. I hope most of them end up in landfill where they belong.

It might be better to commit them to a museum. To make sure that it is never forgotten.

Sure, but it doesn’t seem to have helped. We have plenty of genocide and WWII museums, but we have plenty of genocide and fascism happening just fine.

A society requires its health, access to leisure, and the time to pursue their betterment in order to visit museums and internalize the lessons of history. The United States has reserved realization of these essential human needs for the upper class.

We require such leisure to discover the capacity and motivation to better understand ourselves, those around us, and our collective material circumstances. Without that freedom museums become mere mausoleums until their intended visitors regain the humanity we were contractually coerced to forfeit.

Another thing I hate about gen images other than how they look, is that unlike with art there’s no indicator that someone sat down and sweat over this image. This could have been something they shit out over three prompts in between meetings.

And yet they’re responsible for bringing into the world one of the most hideous images I’ve seen. They didn’t even need to sit over it and think about it.
