Well nothing is better than making things worse. But I do expect this guy to make some progress, just not on everything.
The point is that 40% of the population will still support trump even though he has failed on many many of his promises. If progressives flake out just because their guy doesn’t manage to do everything at once, we hand the control to the assholes who will actively make things worse.

Or just to lower the chances of sticking one’s foot in one’s mouth.

We’ve got to keep the hope alive. He won’t be able to do everything he wants to do. And some things will take time. But he needs support. Think of all the promises that trump has made and immediately reneged - and his base still supports him and that’s why he has power. Of course we need to hold politicians responsible, but we need to do it in a way that doesn’t splinter our efforts.

Yeah, but if the dems aren’t progressive enough I won’t bother to get up off my ass to vote to stop fascism. It’ll be the dems fault for not enticing me to vote.

Everyone who could have voted against trump but didn’t bother is to blame. There’s a pretty big group who are suffer because of trump who didn’t vote against him. Of course there were many who did what they could against trump but still suffer and that sucks, of course. But there’s fuck all we can do about it - except to vote against trump/repubs whenever the opportunity is there. That is the only chance we have left - for today’s elections, and for the midterms. We can’t pussy foot about playing one cause off on another - or being sensitive to those who find it difficult - just get out there and vote.

Them too. There were so many eligible voters who didn’t bother to vote and the margins were thin. There’s a lot of different groups that could have made the difference.

Plenty enough of the poor, disabled and elderly in the U.S. failed to vote against Trump such that they caused this.
