That’s the thing I hate the most about free hotel breakfast: by the time normal people get up, they’ve already shut it down for the day. I swear they do it on purpose to save money.

Just how late do you wake up?

I often stay at hotels for work, and by 8AM I’m leaving so I can be wherever I need to be at by 9, so yeah, breakfast needs to be around 7h30.

Even at home this is a usual schedule, since commuting is a pain.

By 10AM at the latest probably most places also need to wrap up service so they can clear up and prepare to serve lunches in a couple of hours.

        It’s not that unreasonable…

To be fair. At home I ain’t got shit to do. On vacation, there’s always something to do…even rushing to the pool/beach to do more nothing.

This is the way, I retired at 35 and am now 59. I don’t have enough hours on the day to do all the stuff I want to do. I start between 7-10am though.

In a lot of hotels people in other rooms start making noise around that time anyway, so you might as well get up and enjoy a big breakfast that you dont have to prepare yourself

Well, I probably woke up all of them 2 hours earlier stumbling to my(-ish) room.

(Just kidding, I super don’t like to make noise regardless of my state.)

That’s the ticket. Worked in Tempe for 3 weeks. Come non work nights I was wondering what I should do, so if I was tired Id pop some edibles, laugh at a movie for a bit, wake up with munchies and get breakfast, then go back to bed until afternoon.

Didn’t want to spend much time outside when it was daylight anyways. Sun starts to go down, find a dive bar or something.

I think its the fact that you dont have to prepare the food. You wake up, throw some shit on and just fuck off to eat for an hour straight because they have all the food you would ever want.

If I am on vacation I miss about 95% of all breakfasts in Hotels. They are too early.

And if it is a free breakfast it usually is garbage anyways.

There are exceptions but they are very rare.

I just back from vacation, stayed at a hotel that had free breakfast from 6-9. I was in that hotel for a full week, didn’t make it to breakfast once. Felt like a waste of money, waking up at noon and walking to a breakfast place nearby, but I’d rather pay for a meal than wake up early so 🤷‍♂️

Nah, I hate breakfast. Give me that extra sleep anyway. It’s not like they are very good either.

I’m not one of those people that needs to eat at precise intervals or even every day. I just eat when in hungry for something.

In summer dinner is usually my first (and often only) meal.
I almost never eat breakfasts (especially if I woke up “only” a few hours ago). Never could, even parents wanted me to but I just had better days without breakfast as a kid so they stopped insisting.

I assume that when I travel I have access to food basically everywhere or else I know I have to plan that - which again I do in a way that I eat when I want.

The extra hours of sleep are well worth the cost of a non-complimentary breakfast whenever I’m ready for it.

Am I missing the joke here? Your God damn right I’m going to be up eating the delicious breakfast buffet when I’m on vacation. And your also right that I’m going to sleep until lunch on the weekends so I don’t need to expend effort for breakfast. I literally can’t see doing this any other way.

Also of course I will be up early if I’m at a hotel so I can get the most time out of my stay. Because I’m most likely somewhere where I want to experience things.

      🤷‍♂️

    f*ck morning people
    f*ck morning, people
    f*ck, morning people
