Got people off that damn Epstein for a couple of months. What’s a couple of thousand people, a girls school, and some soldiers, when compared to the embarrassment of the president?

It’s like watching someone on a probably fatal bender. Making bad decision after bad decision until there’s only one way to go.

HA, They ded. And likely more then 15 but who knows at this point if the real cost will ever be shared. The last time we saw a war start this poorly was the full scale invasion of Ukraine.

hot take, good. the usa should pay for the crimes it committed against iran.

of course it should have never committed the crimes in the first place.

But the taxpayers (e.g. me) are paying for this. The people making all the terrible decisions at the top are not facing any consequences. In fact, they’re robbing us in plain sight.

Reparations to Iran, then reparations to the tribes, descendants of slaves, the Philippines and American Filipinos, Vietnam, and I just realised I don’t have the energy to even write every group that occurs to me off the top of my head.

Can confirm. As a person from a country with free healthcare I shoot myself in the foot every morning, just for fun.

Oh, wait, I don’t. But that’s only because I’m from a country with gun control laws.

It’s really dishonest to describe the un-freezing of funds and sanctions relief as “giving” Iran money.

It’s no wonder that the Obama and Trump deals would be similar, since it’s the same countries, with the same leverage, and all the same goals.

We shouldn’t adopt the language of people who believe diplomacy is worthless. Instead we should be pointing out that the bombs and missiles didn’t seem to help much.

The issue I have with it is not so much the “giving them money” but how for some reason there are liberals upset that the war is ending and we didn’t benefit from it.

Like, yes, I agree it’s silly to call it “giving them money” but they did that to Obama for years. I don’t really care if the liberals jump on the same language to make Trump look stupid. Its stupid but Republicans were stupid first. Accuracy vs. Propaganda and sometimes you gotta just throw shit back.

But, a lot of these same liberals are literally war mongering. If Trump believes he is “a great deal maker” but ends the war. I’m ok with that. I don’t give a fuck how it ends as long as we stop killing people. Way too much coming from liberals that are more concerned with Trump looking weak than actually ending the war.

I don’t see anyone war mongering except on fox and online, and maybe that’s because I lucked out with a place to live or perhaps they remember the last three wars a little too recently here or quite possibly a lot of it is inorganic.

I think it’s more that liberals are pointing out how awful of an idea this was from the start. Trump pulled out of the Iran deal, spent billions conducting an illegal war, and what we have to show for it is a worse deal than we already had through peaceful means. It should be pointed out how awful of a mistake it was.

Same countries and goals, yes, but Iran has a lot more leverage now. So I really don’t think the US will get such a favourable treaty this time.

I’ve now learned that it’s best to get into Trump’s stock market manipulations early (duh) and exit before you think it’s going to end.

I bought into some clean energy ETF (which admittedly aren’t as clean as I’d like them to be, some of the holdings are natural gas) and Equinor stock (because hey, European oil should go up when gulf oil isn’t available, right?) during this entire Hormuz thing, but way too late. The clean energy ETF, which I’m planning to hold for longer anyway and got more of, is doing well. The Equinor stock, which I thought I’d sell soon, is down a bit. Had I bought earlier, it would’ve been up quite a bit.

We already know Trump’s gonna walk back and forth on anything he says, next time it might as well be nicer to get in early and then exit early (since you never know when it REALLY ends).

If Trump made even just 1B out of this personally, it’s still a net profit for him since he’s not paying the 300B, the US taxpayer is.

I reckon a bunch of his friends and family made many billions though. Maybe tens. Maybe hundreds.

It also kept the Epstein files distracted for a bit.
And if I were an old, obese, orange painted, narcissistic, child rapist who was trying to cover up the decades of raping kiddies then I’d say spending 300 bill of other people’s money was a steal.
