I’ve never really understood the attraction Pedolf has, he’s always been a vapid moron to me. Vance though? There’s no way he can hold this coalition of the worst of humanity together.

The people in that orbit are greedy sociopaths who can only be kept in line through fear. Once he dies, the fear vanishes and they’ll turn on each other so fucking quickly.

            I can’t wait for it.

That system was well set up for power passing to a hereditary successor. The U.S., not so much. Trump has no interest in laying the groundwork for a smooth transition for an eventual successor, because he cares too much about himself.

I’d argue that Trump has actively worked to make sure there’s no heir apparent to the magat throne, because an heir is a potential threat.

Just a wierd example, I guess. Some authoritarians want to keep their lineage in power. Others, like Trump, can’t stand the idea of sharing the limelight with anyone else so there’s a free for all when he loses power. Same with Stalin.

“To ensure a full succession of leadership to his son and designated successor Kim Jong Il, Kim turned over his chairmanship of North Korea’s National Defense Commission – the body mainly responsible for control of the armed forces as well as the supreme commandership of the country’s now million-man strong military force, the Korean People’s Army – to his son in 1991 and 1993.”

I think its more likely they’ve already got plans in place to turn that horde against the left by trying to blame the “evil woke communist liberal socialists” for his death, to avoid the Oroborus…if at least temporarily.

Yeah, I don’t see Vance having the same pull, but then I thought it was a joke when Trump announced his bid for the presidency, so I don’t trust myself to understand what these people are thinking.

Until Vance appoints a VP, and it gets approved by the House and Senate.

If Donald has eaten his last cheeseburger, he’s better off to have done it now, because if it happened after the Midterms and Democrats manage to get a majority in the House, I bet they sit on the nomination and Vance just sits there, with the knowledge that he is all that is standing between us and President Hakeem Jeffries…

      God I hate these comments.

Do people really not understand the power Trump has over the narcissists that believe in him? You folks really think he’s “just a symptom” and not an engine? Goddamn…No one thinks everything will magically be fine when he dies, he’s made evident that the country is in need of fundamental repair, but for fuck’s sakes… How do some of you still not understand the singular force for evil that he’s been for decades?

Vance wouldn’t be much better, but he would certainly be less chaotic and ffs can you not let us be happy if Trump is dead? Let us have this one fucking thing after 10 years without pissing all over it. Fuck.

“Sure Hitler’s dead, but” shut the fuck up

          lol sorry

I def went too hard. I just get so frustrated with how some people seem to think character is a secondary consideration when it’s the difference between monsters and men, and this sentiment that Trump dying wouldn’t make a difference just sums it all up for me.

So should we not be hoping for his downfall? This statement seems pointless. If 2 evil men exist and one of them goes away to leave us just with 1 that’s still a positive thing isn’t it?

After what that J.D. Hamel guy did to the last pope I’d imagine he’s a person of interest. Hell, CK’s wife even called him an assassin.

The cure is the same for that disease, too. Preserving one Nazi from fear of the next is not the approach we need. Kill enough of them and they’ll eventually get the message.

Well, on one upside, if Vance steps in before the midterms, he’d only be eligible for one presidential term afterward, instead of two.

Admittedly, it’s not a reason why he should take over now, but an added silver lining is always welcome.
