Sgt Benjamin N Pennington, 26, died from injuries sustained during Iranian strike on airbase in Saudi Arabia

The Pentagon has identified the seventh US service member killed in the war with Iran as 26-year-old army Sgt Benjamin N Pennington, who is a resident of Glendale, Kentucky.

In a statement on Monday the department said Pennington died on Sunday from injuries sustained during an Iranian strike on the Prince Sultan airbase in Saudi Arabia on 1 March. The incident is under investigation, the statement said.

Pennington was assigned to first space battalion, first space brigade, Fort Carson, Colorado, the Pentagon said. The brigade is part of the army space and missile defense command.

Either these soldiers think they are doing something heroic or they feel forced to do this, either way I pity them

      Get out of my head!

It feels cold to say, but 7 dead soldiers just isn’t much. 21 soldiers die per year in training accidents 17-22 veterans commit suicide every day

That 7 dead number is nothing. However, the fact that we are being led by a buncg of sex trafficing rapists is disturbing beyond belief.

True. They shouldn’t be in the national news so prominently… But he also shouldn’t be using them as pawns in his game of checkers.

and these service members are just following illegal orders, huh?

kind of hard to feel any sympathy for them. it’s been a few years now. they’ve probably had time to get out, and chose not to.

    Oh no! Not 7?!

I can’t believe they’re gonna report on each US soldier individually in contrast to the utterly deafening silence on the mountains upon mountains of dead people they leave behind for their precious pedoprez.

If I travelled back in time to 26 years ago to tell this guy’s parents that their son will die to be a distraction because an orange reality TV star, bankruptcy champion, 34 felony holding, confirmed rapist and racist, multi crime committing, old aged, narcissistic pathological liar, mushy brained dementia riddled imbecile was trying to ‘flood the zone with shit’ just to protect itself from the decades of child rapes -and most probably even more evil shit- then do you think they’d believe me?

The thing is, I know it happened and yet even I can’t believe it.

    7th that’s been admitted to.

The real casualty count is being heavily censored.

Allied NATO countries are reporting US soldiers arriving to their hospitals end masse.

COVID was when we saw in real time that America is willing to manipulate the numbers. It’s a really depressing reality and incredibly disrespectful to the families of the troops who died.

Good? Doesn’t everyone else hope that Iran gets a least a few devastating strikes in? They are the victim here.

Since it’s mostly a bombing campaign I don’t see how it would be much higher. It’s not that much different than the casualties seen during the gulf war. Only 219 US deaths from that entire conflict

This soldier died in Saudi Arabia. Unlike the gulf war, Iran can strike back with greater accuracy than they were given credit for. This is nothing like the gulf war in terms of the capabilities of the opponent. The USA will also not be able to win this war with air strikes alone, boots on the ground will be needed.

I need to stop reading this comment because every time I do, I give the same little guffaw then feel guilty for laughing then start to contemplate whether I should but then I read it again and the cycle repeats.
