American Culture is Common Culture at this point…

For years, the United States has benefited most from globalization. They either don’t admit it or don’t realize it.

I’m from Russia, so I don’t need to boycott American corporations myself, American corporations boycott me themselves. :D
    It’s a joke.

But in reality, I just try to minimize my purchases from multi-billion dollar corporations whenever possible. I prefer buying indie, open-source or custom. Nothing about culture. As others have already said, nowadays American culture is mostly common culture. Sometimes I think about buying a Chinese CPU or GPU. And in general, I have a pretty limited budget.

They are still on sale and very cheap in price, but the RAM for them has already gone up in price. Yes it was very good deal for it’s money, I have one. Usually I prefer something Coreboot capable, but thats just was very cheap.

Yes. It will include american culture. Im starting to “attack” businesses that push american culture. This includes cinemas.

American media told me for decades that the USA is awesome and the people are heroic do-gooders.

Turns out is was always White supremacy.

Fuck the US. Fuck US americans.

Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes. I cut netflix and will not watch the end of Stranger Things, although I watched the first four seasons. Incidentally-not-coincidentally also because of Zionism on this one. Nor Avatar 3 currently in theatres while I saw the premieres of the first two. I operated a paradigm shift in my mind: despite all the good people in the US, fuck the American way of life forever. I am moving back to Korean polars for entertainment.

Edit: I will cherish my Jeff Buckley discography for life, but he’s long gone so there’s nothing new to boycott.

probably the most directly helpful boycott is one that ensures money is denied to US companies so they are motivated to lobby and change things to protect their bottom line (as a last resort of course, and maybe not at all)

cultural boycott is more extreme and less directly important to bringing about immediate political change, but is nonetheless probably an important part of bringing about rejection of US hegemony and dominance, so it’s not a bad approach in addition to denying the US your money

America has so much to be proud of, and the current shit show the US government is right now should not be allowed to taint the great, music, art, or culture Americans have created. It is just a shame so much of what comes out of the US these days, and most western nations to be fair, is over processed landfill.

I’m hopeful for change, I just worry about my patience for it.

America has given the world such cultural greats as: Jim Carrey, Seth Rogen, Ryan Reynolds, Alanis Morissette, Drake, Keanu Reeves, Ryan Gosling, the Barenaked Ladies, Sum 41, and Rush.

US americans don’t have culture, the people and nations they oppress do, capitalists then comodify and export that

either way, while usa dominates english language entertainment, I don’t pay for it anything I consume, and I’m exploring more non english language entertainment

While I’m not in favor of boycotting culture, I do feel like boycotting products and services that incorporate it.

So I try to buy boycotted cultural products secondhand whenever possible.

This way, I can legally obtain culture, but it prevents American companies from making any additional profits. (Naturally, I avoid using Amazon[.]com when making these purchases.)

The problem then arises when an American artist performs in the country where I live.

Naturally, experiential entertainment cannot be recorded, meaning it cannot be purchased secondhand. This issue determines whether a boycott is feasible based on how individual artists respond to corruption in the United States.

Separately, I also try to avoid cultural dependency on social media platforms such as YouTube and x[.]com by prioritizing domestic alternatives (such as Nico Nico Douga and mixi2).

When I travel I sometimes get sad seeing how far Western culture as come and changed societies, feels like the McWorld has won (Even as someone who aligns very much with that culture). Would be hypocritical to judge them though

I will never ever travel there.
My only travel to the US will be done using GTA and Cyberpunk2077. Don’t need more.
