Worth noting this is specifically for “A.I. agents”. The problem listed in the article, is that the current web is supported by advertising. Ads mean nothing to the bot, and don’t generate revenue for the website, and also outnumber human viewers by a huge amount, meaning a huge cost and revenue loss.

The aim of this technology is you would give your A.I. agent access to a “stablecoin wallet”, and it would automatically pay for services it accesses when you ask it to do things. I’ve never used agents or stable coin so this is all meaningless to me. Hopefully someone else can chime in with what this would mean in practice for users of these technologies.

It is an interesting use case. When A.I. first really became a thing I put in my symptoms and it told me I have a combination of three health conditions. Went to a doctor, specifically asked for those tests, and I had 2/3. These were very obscure conditions that doctors don’t normally test for or know about, and up 'till then I’d assumed it was all in my head. But if I’d blindly trusted it I’d think I had an extra condition.

Even better, the A.I. problem is solved. Hooray!

I had 1 tomato plant that made 4 huge tomatoes per day. I had to prop it up from sagging, it was a monster. It was great though, I made so many tomato based meals, that one plant basically fed my whole family for months. All I did was, good soil, in a pot, watering it every day, in a sunny but not burn-y location. I always thought it would be cool if you could just leave AR notes lying around. Like put a digital note reminder on the fridge. Or a cute meme or joke somewhere your partner would find it. This was true back when the economy was vague and vibes based and people kind of just died and it was ok. But now we have pensions, and it’s considered unacceptable for people to starve to death and economies to collapse, so an upside down pyramid starts to get wobbly rather than “self-resolving”.

I had it as a kid. I was a complete asshole nightmare teenager lol. I later learnt it can be part of ADHD. Even today I still have it, but as you get older you learn tricks to live with it without throwing your boss out the window. Little mental gymnastics like, when someone tells me to do something, I try to find a way for me to agree with them and make it “my idea” and own it if that makes sense. I think there was a really interesting part right at the bottom that was briefly mentioned. A lot of people are using A.I. to shop now. Probably not the Lemmy demographic. But people are willing to trust the A.I. when it gives them a recommendation, even if it’s for a new brand they’ve never heard of before. This is an unprecedented level of marketing if the numbers in the article are correct. No advertising can compete with “artificial word of mouth” directly changing a customer’s opinion.

My prediction is companies will notice this, fast, and there will be incentives for A.I. to become like a new advertising platform. How much do you think Grok can charge to recommend one product over the other if it can have such a high (near 40%) lead conversion?

Measuring the stick so to speak. I believe it is theoretically possible to get perfect angles, but keeping it that way might be a challenge outside of a vacuum. As a thought experiment, if you take your arm, hold it straight, then bend it, for 1 picosecond or something, wouldn’t the angle of your arm be exactly 180.000~°, 90.000~°, etc, as it is bending?
