Middlemen are assholes.
Middlemen are assholes.

I run my media server on my gaming PC, you don’t need anything special to do it. I haven’t had any issues gaming online while streaming/downloading either.
The younger generations seem to have no concept of what hardware and software is needed, because most of the companies that sell that stuff are trying to maximize profits and vendor-lock in, which leads them to “teach” their customers bad information. It’s the exact same reason why there are so many people who think they need 64gb or 128gb of ram in their gaming machine.

Same, we called it the boat and referred to the backseat as the couch. It was defeated by a young sapling in a low-speed head-on collision unfortunately. I wish theyd make something like that again but its probably past its time.

When I lived in a poor area I saw a ton of luxury vehicles but they were a decade older than most non-luxury cars and were beat to shit. I’d believe the numbers but I don’t think they say what this idiot is implying.
Its demoralizing that this type of messaging resonates with such a large portion of Americans, honestly.

My arch system runs an arch VM.

Probably smaller countries. Midwest is a country, southeast is a country, etc etc.

*they do whatever the people want
I think large societies believing in this flawed social structure has immense real world effect, but you are right that not all of them wield the same practical power.
Danish royalty is just as immoral as British royalty. This is pretty much the same as being religious while talking down other religions. No one should be treated like royalty, full stop. Its never made sense and it never will, its just coercion and manipulation turning people against themselves.

Generally you would loan someone money without interest because the result would be mutually beneficial. We already do this in smaller social circles like our families, and then our close friends. The problem is that most lenders arent local and dont live in the community. They have no shared interest with the borrower.
In some cases communities do come together and raise funds interest free, and use them for something that benefits society in some way, we just wouldnt describe it that way normally.

Loan interest is one of the main reasons we operate in a “line-must-go-up” society right now. If you loan out money and require that that much money plus a percentage be paid back, you are requiring that money spent returns back a surplus somehow. Making even is considered a failure in this system.

It reads like someone who accepts that religion/storytelling/folktales always have and always will have a place in our society.
Scientology really does try to push that concept far past its breaking point though. In my opinion, its a money and blackmail type situation, where dumb famous/rich people are taken advantage of.

Its simpler than that. They are prioritizing the “economy” over anything else, which leads to this type of decision making. The shortage is fixed for less money than if they hired more people, the money goes to AI companies propping them up further, and the “stock market” continues to climb.
Its an entirely flawed way of thinking and living and that’s what needs to change. Right now the largest impact on changing this is simply older generations dieing off, as many are too old to change their entire moral system.
Well that’s definitely a whole other level to the image. Kinda gross, kinda inspiring. I think I hate-love it now.
They are saying one uses imagination and the other doesn’t.
The products are made to male the owners Roch not benefit the users.

I didnt say to destroy it, let it have its natural life cycle. Live service games very clearly have a life cycle that ends. You can debate whether companies are deceptive or not, and we should fix that issue if it exists, but preserving art for arts sake is quickly a fools errand and driven by ego. If you don’t see the obvious pitfalls of curating such a collection then you simply feel bad about things dieing.
Things in life don’t last forever, accept that. Some live service games last upwards of 10 years, like the original The Crew did. Some last decades and have multiple snapshots of the games development, like WoW or Runescape. Most offline games are sold with perpetual ownership, so that’s already solved there. Save a copy of it yourself if its so important.
Sure companies should communicate this reality better but that doesnt change the fact that games will die.

Presumably because you want what they can provide you. Its not rocket science my guy.

And then what? Why are we storing these old games. Move on with your lives. Art doesnt last forever, its not supposed to. But you want publishers to put in extra effort to preserve them, and then have governments put in effort to preserve them, apparently forever.
Its funny how its the people playing the games who want them preserved forever rather than the people making the games, isn’t it. The people making them have pointed out multiple problems with this idea, but who cards about them right?
If it was a leap year it was a year minus a day.
