Wealth has always had access to skill. AI just gave them access that’s even cheaper, and less likely to complain and unionize.

The Matrix called the 90s the peak of human civilization, and it felt extreme and foolish at the time. Turned out to be prescient.

The education system started getting gutted in the 80s, and it accelerated rapidly under W in the 00s. MAGA is a direct line from this and the similar policies around it.

Many of the same people and organizations that told you that are also Israel supporters. Ask yourself why that is.

The actual statistics for Xinjiang province show the same quality of life improvements as the rest of China. The Uyghur population is living longer, attaining higher education, earning higher incomes, and their region is seeing constant development.

Time will tell. A year from now, I bet things are even better. Will your life be better next year? Mine probably won’t.

mate, i hear you opinion. But your comment and your past comments come in too strong.

As if you are paid to push an agenda.
Sometimes it does feel you are a bot account enabling a specific narrative.

Good luck on future conversations on the internet. Hope you get more considerate

They aren’t coming on too strong just because you don’t like what they said. You might be a bit sensitive to the topic.

Somehow I’m the one that’s coming on too strong and is inconsiderate, but it’s okay for them to accuse me of being either being a paid liar or not being human at all.

I do this for free because I’m a stupid loser and I haven’t had friends for almost ten years and I probably never will again and have nothing better to do with my time and it will never get better and anyone who says otherwise is a fucking liar. 🙂

      This is absolutely true

What is also true is that the Republican speaker of the House in Indiana explained their long term goal was to gut education because it wasn’t profitable.

      This was in the 1980s

      Mission Accomplished

All these people at work are so eager to devalue themselves. They’re rushing to have AI do their work and accepting the same pay.

The goal of the owners is to rid themselves of paying for things they feel entitled to. AI is another step towards total control for the real owners of this country (USA).

This is one of those times I like to be a pedant and separate LLMs and other generating bots from what I think most people would consider intelligence. Real AI tech could serve all of humanity, but LLMs are just the next fancy shitcoin the wealthy and their hangers-on want to convince you spits out something that has high value when it clearly doesn’t (unless you’re in the propaganda business).

I keep hearing this but what makes them “good”? Like at the end of the day they’re still just LLMs right? Even if they can generate a perfect picture that no human could tell is AI, so what? What is that skill useful for besides fooling humans into believing something is real that isn’t true?

Heck- they can’t even set a reminder like natural language processing (Siri) could do fifteen years ago.

Where I work it has become standard to use these tools. Being dismissive of it’s capabilities is a ship that sailed 2 years ago, and unfortunately it will only get more powerful.

I hate it though and wish we could put all this back into Pandora’s box.

Theres a really interesting episode of the podcast “diary of s ceo” with the guest Ed Zitron. He says a lot about how we can see some really good uses for AI but not trillions of dollars worth of use. Billions, maybe, but trillions? Personally, im wondering if this is a way for the uber rich to suck as much money out of the rich before the economy collapses.
