Actually if we wanted to be pedantic, (and why else are we here?) we could argue this is too wide a spread and encompasses multiple mini-generations. For example I loved MSI and Foamy and Tenacious D, but I was already in high school when Pick of Destiny came out and likewise I hated Happy Tree Friends as I felt it was both awful and mostly for younger kids (who shouldn’t have been watching it, but it beats rotten.com and some of the other early Internet stuff they missed the boat on, but I digress…) This covers a wide spread of the early and mid to late 2000s and that doesn’t seem like much from an outside perspective but this was back when years felt a proper length.
MSI… there’s a name I’ve not heard in forever (beyond my laptop, that is). That was a fun group for a time. And Neurotically Yours I had all of.
I heard MSI for the first time in a minute recently, and I was hit by a huge wave of nostalgia. Followed very shortly by the thought “This did not age well.”

Me too. This was their best album, IMO. I genuinely love half the tracks, and listen to many of them regularly.
It was eligibly the most expensive and ridiculously produced album of all time. It’s their best album because nobody ever trusted them with their wallet like that again, lol.
They’ve been my favorite band for a long time, and I’ve even got a picture somewhere of me kissing Jimmy. But it is sad what has become of them, with the legations against Jimmy and all that.
As another big fan, I don’t think there’s a single surprising allegation against Jimmy. When people tell you, repeatedly, who they are you gotta believe them.
I get that he’s always been quite the deviant, but I didn’t think that extended to underage girls… but I guess I should’ve known since the pic I have of kissing him i was 16, and while I’m a guy, I know that Jimmy doesn’t seem to care either way.
I feel like every touring musician with a mostly youth audience at least up into the 2010s was taking advantage of their underage fans. It just wasn’t as big of a deal, culturally. I graduated in 2009 and had plenty of friends and classmates dating older people, and I do think it’s creepy now as an adult but the adults in our lives at the time certainly didn’t seem that bothered. The fact that some artists have been crucified over relatively benign behavior while others are still revered despite their repeated flagrant abuse of minors I think speaks more to the fan bases of those musicians than anything else. MSI and Brand New fans are more the types to hold people accountable for their actions than RHCP fans, for example.

I partly want it for the drink, but I mostly want it for the nostalgia. I’ve got fond memories of sharing that drink with a high school friend that passed away. If I get ahold of a bottle, I’ll be cheers-ing to him, even if it’s plastic.
