The developer is also claiming the distro now outperforms CachyOS in Geekbench 6. Do you think benchmark results like these are meaningful when comparing Linux distributions?
NTFS? Why would someone want to use NTFS?
You can stop taking performance claims seriously when geekbench is mentioned.
As for whether PorteuX is truly faster than CachyOS? Linux users will undoubtedly spend the next few weeks testing that claim for themselves.
No, they won’t.
Yeah I’d rather play games on my cachyos than play distrohopping.
I’ve seen this time and time again, performance between gaming distros like Bazzite, Nobara, CachyOS, etc. is marginal.
And cachy is consistently faster and has better .01 and 1 percent lows.
Linuxes real issue is almost always unstable frame rates and performance. Cachy does manage to bring the bottom up.

Almost never. Bumping the minimum architecture version and optimization levels is all well and good, but unless you’re doing tons of vector oriented workloads it’s not going to qualitatively make a difference.

They don’t really provide any explanation for why it should be faster than CachyOS. So I’d take their claims with a bucket or two of salt.

Nixos is the new btw distro. Everyone runs arch now it’s old hat. Steamos, cachy, it’s boring and normal.

I switched from bazzite to CachyOS on my steam deck, never gonna change to another again. CachyOS is simply the best.

Cache is a word… Its cachy your just putting a harder e at the end.
