When I was 12 my dad gave me two defect PCs and says: find out how to compare the working parts and you can have this one for you. Also a copy of win95.
If I look back this was enough to learn about every hard- and software related issue ever. Hell, even the mainboards back then doesn’t have any documentations about jumpers etc.
And win95 need a regularly reinstall. If I compare how many reinstalls I needed between win and Linux, windows wins.
Another solution comes to my mind. Why not using freshrss or alternatives and achieve sub’s through RSS?
Didn’t look into it further, the project is new, maybe they add this as a feature if requested.
Have you tried lurker?
Good job, welcome to the free world of tech. Installing is often the hardest part.
Next lesson: forget about downloading installer from the browser, check out the software center or learn package manager commands, that’s the first new thing about Linux.
Definitely a hardware error.
Why so complicated? Neil A. = Alien
Looks like 2025 is written with pee.
Since this is selfhosted, why not this one:
Did near the same vote, these tracks looks good.
Immich is easy to handle with standard proxy settings, nothing special. My caddy entry for immich is the typical one liner from caddy.
TLS is if you are use immich behind a proxy. If you just use it in your network there is no need for TLS.
Okay that sounds familiar. Germans use it the same way. Carry means “tragen” and nobody would use “schleppen” in a serious sentence.
Wait there is more, installing Arch with knowing about the existence of “archinstall” and without.
Nice list, looks like I did near the same. Just an advice, what I did, after years of using Lenovos I searched especially for used Dell XPS laptops with TPM Chips < 2.0. These high level laptops are perfectly for Linux and since they are not win 11 compatible, they are cheap.
Wait a moment, “schlepped” is an english word and it means the same like carrying? Because it’s from german word “schleppen”.
Looks like a T-1000 was successful.
