        I mean, one could make the argument that higher poverty levels from Western sanctions were killing more elementary school children than that yearly, so a few elementary schools for sanctions relief is “worth it” in a purely utilitarian sense. That aside I don’t think the Iranian regime was optimizing for minimum dead elementary school children, so it can be a good deal for them even if it sucks for other people.

            Nope. That’s why I phrased it as an argument that can be made, not an established fact. That said, the impact of US sanctions on Iranian healthcare is well documented (1 2 3), and that’s before getting to knock-on effects from general increased poverty, so I’d be very surprised if this was not the case.
