For what it’s worth, I see this image fine from Lemmy/Voyager.
I see them in Summit on Android. I guess it just depends on the individual devs to implement it.
FWIW, I can see this image comment just fine on Mlem (mobile app, iOS).
This comment will be amusing whenever it gets implemented.

How are you reading Lemmy? A mobile app? Web app? Images don’t (always) come from a central source, but instead are hot linked, potentially from external sites which might block your request (e.g. due to bot checks) or which might’ve taken the image offline.
I do all my work on my samsung galaxy A03 Core phone.
Which app or website are you using to browse Lemmy? And do you see the animation in the comments to your post?
I browse the lemmy communities from my piefed account. Sometimes from my lemmy handle.
