Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex crimes and a group of Democratic members of Congress are asking for an independent review of the Epstein case files to determine whether any of the records have been “tampered” with or concealed, ahead of the release of those files by next week.
In a letter Thursday to the Justice Department’s inspector general, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee asked the internal watchdog to undertake a formal review to check for any “chain of custody” problems with the Epstein files.
Honestly, I almost want them to “pull the other one” again, because these days every time they do this, it alienates even more of the MAGA core who got into the cult based on manipulation of their emotions. Epstein ISN’T going away, and just for once the fucking fact-free bubble the political elites occupy is working in the public’s favor, luring them into misstep after misstep.
And I am really looking forward to the point where survivors and witnesses look at whatever fabrications the DoJ releases instead of the real files and say, “NO, that’s NOT what happened at all, that’s NOT what I told the FBI in 2006,” and start spilling the real tea, because they’re well past fed up with being political footballs and now the public is discernibly on their side.
There are also those in his inner circle who absolutely want to stay in power and are undoubtedly thinking Who will rid me of this turbulent priest? as a surefire way of making Epstein go away permanently, and that’s another bonus.
We all know what that filth really is and why he doesn’t want the files released, but every time his posse think they’re pulling a fast one on the rubes they’re just slicing off another hunk of their deluded, manipulated core, and meanwhile the list of people who were there and know the truth are simmering along with the rest of us.
So even though I’m with the rest of the crowd who want the full files released, for me it’s a win/win no matter what he does now: release the real thing and let the chips fall, or don’t and watch the lid blow off the pot.
If they didn’t want to immediately publish them for some reason, but still do it eventually, couldn’t they have just published checksums of the scans to verify their authenticity later when released?

We have flight logs that are a Who’s Who of the rich and powerful. We have photographs of him and dozens of high profile businessmen and politicians. We have the Birthday Book. We have his Quora search history, ffs.
I don’t know what else anyone is waiting for. At what point do we get a file drop that results in anything other than Ghislaine Maxwell getting a pardon? This feels like people coming in after the “Grab’em By The Pussy” video in 2016 insisting that there’s a second, even more secret, even more derogatory film that Hillary refused to produce, but which would definitely have won her the election.
