SSU Sea Baby maritime drones struck two sanctioned tankers of the Russian shadow fleet, KAIRO and VIRAT, in the Black Sea.
This was a joint operation of the 13th Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence of the SSU and the Ukrainian Navy.
During the attack, the sanctioned vessels were empty — they were heading to load in the port of Novorossiysk.
You once donated to these drones😉
ill look it up, but what is a “shadow fleet”?
Ships that aren’t officially Russian but wink wink nudge nudge in fact are.
Plausible deniability for Russia
ty!
Once they make it a habit of destroying ships in the Russian shadow fleet, availability of crews and insurance will dry up, further reducing Russian economic power, pushing Russia closer to the tipping point. Ukraine doesn’t need to destroy them all, just make it so most ships are unwilling to do Russia’s business.
I believe shadow fleet vessels are already uninsured. The way the sanctions are enforced is through insurance.
Yeah and they are buying old ships that would otherwise be headed to dismantling outfits.
Slava Ukraini!
Crispy clear videos from these sea drones… Love everything about this!
Except for the reason 🤬 Piss off to your own country, azzholes.
Lol Russia is fucked
I hope they are targeting empty tankers, and not ones full of crude oil.
They’re empty. You can tell by how high they are in the water. That doesn’t mean that there isn’t an environmental impact. An empty tanker still has a lot of crude oil contamination and marine fuel (which is nasty nasty stuff).
They were empty and headed to Novorossiysk to be loaded.
They are
They are empty? Or full of oil?
Yes!
That’s realarming.
They are targeting empty ones
They were returning under ballast, so not full of oil.
Not anymore!

lol. I love it. Attacking combat ships, they have to move in quick. With tankers, these guys just troll right up next to them!
I guess this is hoping that it’s the end of the wheat exporting season for Ukraine. Otherwise Ukrainian shipping will be targeted next, probably by submarines.
But isn’t Russia the country who wants peace? Why would they escalate?
Also these are not Russian ships, why would they get angry with random Namibian ships sinking? 😉
Russia hasn’t made any reasonable peace deals yet, so it’s likely they’ll keep fighting longer.
They have zero intention in accepting any plan that isn’t “we get everything and immunity from all war crimes. Oh and Ukraine can pound sand and can’t have an army or join any organisation ever or well nuke the whole world”
Isn’t that what I said?
That risks escalation with countries that can enforce their soverntiy if such a country flags the ship
Most of the ships going to Russia (and in general) are not flagged to countries that can do anything about it.
Edit: Wrote Ukraine instead of Russia.
