She seems nice. I’ve seen a flat rat wrapped around a tire after riding the tire to las Vegas a couple of times. Like that but nice.

Her deal is that she’s a Republican, which means she’s a traitor to the United States of America.

Politician should not be a career choice, it should be a limited service to your fellow citizens and you should walk away when it is time.

As long as she follows through, at least Joni Ernst is doing what she said she would, though I suspect it isn’t because of her promise but because she doesn’t want a humiliating loss after telling people cutting services is fine because we’re all going to die anyway.

Because they never cared about ordinary people. They serve a handful of figures at the absolute top and their main value is the ability to manipulate the masses.

To be fair: it’s all the Republicans casting the deciding vote. She doesn’t have any special powers that makes her vote count more than the rest. The difference is that she’s occasionally not-shitty and so she gets a lot of attention as a maybe.

Like: Rick Scott also cast these deciding votes, but everyone already expected that he’d be a shit so he doesn’t get any flak for it.

Her vote as a US Senator counts more. That is exactly how representational government works you doof sorry.

In what way, exactly, does her vote as a US senator count more than another US senator’s vote?

Feel free to use simple language if you feel I need it.

Being a “moderate” is just an act for her constituents.

If they say that bill might not pass, because Murkowski and Collins are likely to vote against ot, then i you can be certain that the bill will pass with a single vote, and the one who vote against it will be the one that has election sooner.

Nah, they got kompromat on her. Bribery will get you some baubles but it’s too voluntary and you can always get outbid. You gotta get coercive if you really want to own someone’s soul.

According to the CIA, kompromat is also a less ideal way to influence someone because they eventually get exhausted and conclude the consequences are less painful than the control, and defect.

The most reliable way is to make them a true believer.

That’s why Kirk’s death is so gutting to the right: He was an excellent propagandist who specialized in influencing impressionable people.

        Maybe Luigi’d ?

Look, in a perfect world we could discuss things rationally. But with a fascist government using unidentified police and the military against peaceful protests, and routinely ignoring the law, while clearly acting overtly corrupt and morally bankrupt, at some point people will react.

You’d think the billionaires in control would realize that their push to hoard more and more at the expense of the people will end with their or their decendent’s heads on pikes. You’d think they’d do something to find a stable solution with themselves on top but not pushing everyone else so far down. But they don’t seem to get it, so we’re headed to a revolution at some point. Better get used to it.

We are far past the point where a bloodless Revolution is feasible. Liberals do not understand this. Conservatives absolutely do and have for decades.

I have no problem with people who have caused untold amounts of death and suffering having death called upon them back. I do not understand why you would even argue that.
