Worthless spineless cowards like this are worse than the fascists because they’re the ones who allow a minority to rule over them.

Can I complain too? Because the GOP is turning kids to suicide because they are having a miserable life for not being allowed who they are. You really have the mental capacity of a can of mountain dew if you think “gay” is an option, a choice, something which can change. The only thing that can change are the limited dumb fucks who believe in an imaginary guy in the clouds with super powers (which he only uses for crual things somehow) by stopping abusing others and forcing children into their expectations. It’s literally child abuse what they are doing. And they are making the rules, instead of being trialed.

I’ve been predicting since Trump was re-elected that within four years, LGBT content will be purged from streaming services. Netflix and Disney will probably end up doing it before they’re forced to.

Trans identies must be accept as valid period the end but I find drag often veers into “woman face” territory and it’s done for entertainment not as an expression of an authentic self, not that drag is inherently wearing woman face but a lot of performers absolutely take it there. I don’t want my children, especially my daughter watching content that exaggerates my female features for entertainment and dehumanizes women into nothing more than a caricature

Am I wrong? What’s the point of drag as entertainment other than to dress up as a caricature of a woman? Sorry I don’t like my identity to be used for mocking and/or entertainment. If a person has a female identity because that’s the truest form of themselves I fully support that but if you’re dressing up as a mocking version of something for entertainment it’s not at all the same thing and it’s not ok. There’s a reason you didn’t address what I said and just hopped onto essentially calling me a TERF, I may be an RF but I am not TE

Claiming to be pro-trans rights and hating actual feminist points is peak hypocrisy

You couldn’t be more wrong. Drag is often about getting in touch with one’s feminine side, and many trans and nonbinary folks use drag as a vehicle to explore their identities. It’s very much an expression of an authentic self as much as it is entertainment.

Also, drag kings are very much a thing, exploring masculinity from a feminine starting point.

If it’s not for entertainment that’s fine, which I do point out, that it’s not universal. There’s no difference in my mind between dressing up as a caricature of a woman to entertain people than there is dressing up as a caricature of any other discriminated against class for entertainment. If a person simply wants to cross dress and it’s not done with outrageous makeup, cartoonish physical proportions, over the top generalizations of women more power to them but yes, lots of drag absolutely includes the things I mentioned and no it’s not ok to put on woman face and shuck and jive for entertainment

Pretty misleading. This isn’t “PBS,” it’s one member station doing it to their local content.

PBS gives their members freedom. Can’t help it if some are conservatives or panicking over loss of local funding from their local conservative govt

As the Trump administration intensifies its attacks, PBS has bent the knee in another way to dampen potential blowback by removing a scene in an Art Spiegelman documentary in which the graphic novelist Spiegelman discusses an anti-Trump cartoon. PBS also pulled a gaming documentary with trans themes, only to relist it after The Atlantic asked about its deletion.

Sounds like it’s not just the local station engaging in shenanigans.

Is POV (the PBS series) not a nationwide, PBS produced program rather than an individual station program? The Atlantic article mentioned at the end talks about POV having a trans gamer themed episode canceled because of potential backlash.

Anyone who thinks the inclusion of trans people in public life is a battle worth laying down can kiss my trans ass. I’m not a bank, my donations are drawn from a limited well, and I’m perfectly fine with moving that money to a trans focused cause instead.

PBS is being threatened as a whole, and not just because they’re inclusive, but because they are an entity for the public benefit, and the current assholes at large hate that sort of thing. I sincerely doubt they want to do this, but if there’s any hope of them continuing their mission, how do you propose they handle it? I’m really not trying to be a dick here, and it’s horseshit that we’re at this point as a society, but I can see where they’re at.

Youtube dislikes don’t do anything. I’d rather have both up and downvotes so you could see the vibe of a particular community. Reddit took it too far, hiding anything with a few downvotes and treating it as a currency, without that (like on here) it’s fine.

I was at a confirmation to a boy a couple of days ago, where the uncle is gay. The uncle hadde a speech that started with "When [name] was in kindergarten, he said ‘I want a boyfriend, like my uncle Tom has, because he’s so happy’. Damn, that was funny. Especially since the boy is as straight today. There’s NOTHING wrong with children being exposed to different people. Fuck the GOP and their hateful minds. Let people be people, you closeted bigots!

I used to have my sister put makeup on me, and use shopping bags to make “dresses” which we’d then stuff with fake boobs. I thought it was awesome and great fun creativity. I’m straight AF, but still flamboyant AF. You are what you are.
