    ELI5 how is Trump any better than Putin? Both seem to be following the same playbook of intimidation and unlawful invasions, showing utter disrespect to international law.

      There’s no such thing as international law. It’s free for all. If you have an army, you can also get what you want.

      That’s exactly what Putin wants. He wants the US to behave as he does so that he can say, “see? The US is no better than me.”

      He is not and the US isn’t any better than Russia in that regard. All caused by people with bruised egos playing with people’s lives.

      So far Trump is all talk, of course he hasn’t yet been sworn in, but until the invasions he threatens about become real he is not worse than Putin.

      Here’s hoping he’s all bark and no bite.
