The only thing that will stop this tariff nonsense is the economic collapse of the U.S. as a consequence. Every time he announces a tariff, every news outlet covers it, giving him narcissistic supply. Then, the leaders of whatever countries are affected by the tariffs are then invited to come and kiss his ass in order to try to avoid economic ruin, making Trump feel powerful and giving him even more narcissistic supply. Until the consequences fall with their full weight, which have been delayed by companies stocking up on inventory in advance of the tariffs, Trump is perceived as “winning” the tariff game. Make no mistake, the biggest loser with all these tariffs it the U.S. economy.
