Well, there is some wiggle room, as the date of Federal elections is determined by Congress. The current election date is set by statute. So, it can be rescheduled with a statute as well.

However, the term of Congress is set by the Constitution. And House seats, in particular, must be assigned based on election results. If the election is postponed into the New Year, then all House seats would be vacant. So if a Federal law either abolishes or postpones elections so they cannot be certified in time for the new Congress to convene, States would immediately challenge, and Blue states would probably hold the election on time anyway, anticipating a ruling in their favor. We may end up with a new Congress controlled by Democrats, only because Red states never held elections.

It would get a fast track to the Supreme Court, and then who knows? The outcome might depend on what gratuities are promised by both sides…

The article lists an insane revenue of $1.6B, yet the losses are only on the order of $42M in the last 3 months. Against that much revenue, it looks to me like they are managing the company at a slight loss on purpose. They probably could close that gap if they wanted to, but have some favorable tax implications or something by running that “slight” loss.

(And who knows, maybe this is part of the attempt to close that gap and show a profit before the founders cash out and it all gets sold to a Shittier company)

They did the one practical thing they could have done after 9/11, which was maintain better security practices on cockpit doors while in flight. Much of the rest is just theater.

I have flow through SFO and other airports with non-TSA security quite a bit, and the contractor’s work is just as thorough as TSA. Don’t tell their bosses, but I have even seen a few smile on occasion. I don’t think we lose anything, security-wise, by privatizing TSA.
