The article says that Massie may bring impeachment articles as soon as next week. Given the drubbing that Republicans just took, and Vance’s statements that it is about the war, it is entirely possible that they force him out expeditiously, just so that Senate Republicans can have a say in his replacement.

If he gets impeached after the new Congress is seated, then Democrats have a much larger say in who the replacement is. (Or, even not seat a replacement at all…)
