The most attention I’ve ever given this guy is when I watched Game of Thrones and the person I was watching with says, matter of factly, that’s Ed Sheeran.
Me: I’ve heard the name, but who is he and why should I care?
Followed by some pull up of a video with music so remarkable, I remember it not at all.
Then there’s social media. Where you find out about a person not because you care but because a stream of posts starts flowing through your scroll. So you tap in and read about some guy you care about not at all.
The only reason I know about the bloke is because I play guitar, and you inevitably come across him if you play long enough. I checked out some of his music and found it pretty uninteresting and boring, so I immediately dismissed him. Then again, I dislike just about every white guy-with-a-guitar act, ironically because I’m also a white guy with a guitar.
