    Inactive rules: A law, rule, or treaty that still exists on paper but has lost its power or practical use.

    It still fits doesn’t it? I’m not gonna lie, I don’t think I’ve ever read this term before, so I could be very, very wrong.

      huh, i coulda sworn it was an undeliverable letter. can’t remember the specific term for laws that have been unenforced so long that they are now unenforceable (as i’m not a lwayer0 but i coulda sworn it was latin.

        You’re not wrong, it also means that! I think there is in fact another legal term that you’re thinking of, though it’s escaping me as well at the moment
