I just came to the realization that in the last months I really haven’t come across an app or piece of software that doesn’t have claude code in it. Literally zero promotion posts where it’s not written with AI. People using AI to write one paragraph.
I kinda knew half jokingly that the devs were going to be the first ones to be replaced. They like to say it’s just a tool… cope?
The problem is slop coders can just out spam us like crazy right now with zero repercussions.
We’re still here but we’re pulling our code from GitHub so it isn’t stolen to make more slop. We’re trying to reorganize and find a new place, our place, where quality can be valued and not drowned out. You just have to dig beneath the mud

Outside of work I mostly only write tools for the communities I’m in now. I don’t host the code publicly anymore but post the tool in the community. A little bit more open than friends only but more that way basically. If the AI bubble does ever collapse it’s all in git and can quickly be pushed somewhere for all.

No, I know I said GitHub as a genericization, but I pulled from all. Nothing stops AI bots from pulling from codeberg.

Why is everyone else taking so long? I can kinda get the people who are still moving off of gitlab to codeberg or their own forgejo instance or something, but github? In 2020-fucking-6?
I used GitHub here just as short hand to cover forgejo and codeberg and self hosted gitea and such. I, and I know others, have pulled code from all online accessible repo systems.
Maybe I should have been more clear yeah. It’s like how people say “Kleenex” for facial tissue despite not having ever bought Kleenex or “Clorox” when they mean bleach.
