Powdered milk is a miracle wasted on the poor, the fact that no company has jumped on “freeze dried milkshakes” that you just add water to shows that America has lost its entrepreneurial spirit.
Freeze drying doesn’t tend to work all that great on fats which whole milk has a lot of. Not tonsay it can’t be done but its generally more effort than its worth for the result

After discovering non-skim milk powder I pretty much stopped buying “wet” milk.
I haven’t had powdered milk in at least 40 years. Does it still taste like shit?
The cheap skimmed version does suck yeah. But the whole milk powder I’ve been using tastes just fine in cereal, coffee or anything I cooked with it.
Much better than any other shelf stable milks I’ve tried and beats frozen milk hands down.
