Margaret Hamilton who is credited with coining the term ‘Software Engineering’ and helped write the flight control software for the Apollo Moon missions.
A more recent example would be Katie Bouman who helped develop the CHIRP algorithm that took an absolutely massive amount of data from radio telescopes to generate an image of a black hole.
