      Awesome. Super friendly to tourists, could not recommend enough.

      Food is absolutely incredible no matter your diet. It can be very affordable, but you’ve also some of The Finest high end dining in the world. You could make the trip and focus only on food and it’d be worth it in Lima. Drinks and transportation are also super affordable. Lodging as well.

      There’s tons of history and art to explore. Not many cities you can turn a corner and see a pre-Incan pyramid rise above the neighborhood (literally just posted photos in another thread about this).

      There was an outrage in germany when the state expenses listed 20 millions in payments to peru for bicycle lanes amongst a financial crisis. They cut paid parental leave and public transport subventions but thought bicycle lanes on the other side of the world is important. Green party is crazy here.

          My guess is they had emission reduction targets, either forced by eu or set themselves. They calculated that it would be cheapest to reach these targets by building bike paths in peru.

          Probably thought ,among billions, 20m is just a lump sum. Or had personal emotions due to vacation.

          Either way this came up during a financial crisis after the ruling parties tapped a financial source meant for emergencies only ,ruled illegal. Further causing the dismantling of the government and new elections.

          Something what was apparent is during this reign the greens, albeit only being a minor partner, caused huge costs for the population. Every house built 20 yrs ago has to invest multiple 100k € for insulation. This affects rents but also single family homes.

          I think the emissions for building new are roughly equal to heat an old building for 40 years.

          After all they had some kind of tunnel vision only looking at co2 but forgot who pays the bill and does the vote. I wish they were more cautious, i think we had more acceptance for them. Also i wish they stopped mixing (far left) migration politics and eco politics.

          For example remote workers have 30% less emissions. It’s basically cost free to force remote work (for jobs where possible). They even advertised this but dropped as soon as voted in. Fuckers.
