Antifa isn’t an organization. It’s definitionally people who oppose fascism. This is in contrast to top down state organizations such as the DPRK, NSDAP etc. who intentionally choose misleading acronyms for social cover.

You were not saying “hey guys we should look past names,” you were obviously suggesting antifa is not anti fascist.
If you had said, “if you think antifa is anti-fascist just because it’s in the name, then…” Or, “if you think they’re anti fascist just because they call themselves antifa, then…”
But you didn’t. You were pretty explicitly saying that antifa aren’t anti-fascist.
But perhaps even more importantly:
I would like to point out that this isn’t about a nation or organization labeling themselves something.
“Antifa,” quite literally, is an adjective describing a political position. So by definition it’s always anti-fascist as that’s simply what the word means.
It would be like saying,
“If you think anti-natalists are against natalism, you should check out People’s Republic of XYZ”
It makes no sense.
A person would not be antifa if they’re not anti-fascist. Because that’s how words work.
Anti-natalists are only against natalism on the surface, it’s actually a symptom of underlying psychological problems.
