There’s quite a bit of fuckery with the billing. When I take the dollar amount listed as “Total Charges” and divide it by the total kWh listed under “EA Levy” I get $0.27 per kWh. That includes day rate, lines fees, and all the other easy-to-understand charges.

    My day rate is $1.68, and then 40c kwh on peak, 20c off peak, -15c export, but if i do as you did, total bill of $177 divided by 592kwh i get 30c/kwh

    We paid 29.5c per kWH on average in June if you take the full bill (including GST) and divide it by the total kWH used.

    This is probably misleading though, we have solar. 60% of the power we used was during the off peak rates, because we don’t pull that much from the grid during the day when it’s sunny. It’s also cold, so we are using more power to heat overnight which will mean the average per kWH will be lower because of the high night time use and lower night rate.

    Our actual rates are 29.2c/kWH peak and 26.7c per kWH off peak, not including GST which is on top of that. We pay about $20 a month (excluding GST) in fixed charges, being line charge and EA levy.

    ~300 pcm average. 3 people. No gas. No solar. 3 bed + study townhouse. 0.35c/kwh average. Including line fees.
