Please please please don’t plant invasive species. They will destroy native environments. It will do literally nothing to stop those datacenters and just cause more harm.

Okay, but the kind of “extremely difficult thing” you could do to remove invasive bamboo is to pave over the affected area and build a data center.

It’s hilarious and sad that people are really so naive to think a few plants have the power to stop this shit. I’ve seen this meme enough on social media now to realize that people have no fucking clue what to do and the shit is going to be built whether people like it or not.

I feel like these posts are just honeypots for people who’d actually do something more effective

Like it takes time to plant shit and it’s hilariously ineffective against a place with cameras around it. They will see a dude with a trowel and face mask and bamboo and laugh while they call the cops. Then that person doesn’t do any harm but the intent is very fucking clear and they get charged in court as if they were going to do something actually dangerous. It doesn’t matter that the attempt was pointless… The intent was there, and it’s easy to prove because they probably sent this meme to someone.

This meme is a control tactic, and there’s going to be a few idiots getting arrested with gardening tools near data centers, trying to act like they “accidentally” planted bamboo in the wrong place, meanwhile getting charged with criminal intent after an investigation.

Ah, in the name of environmentalism, go forth and plant invasive species?

What do people think this is actually going to do to data centers? Oh no, there’s plants growing near them… like there weren’t already?

when they say “extremely difficult to remove”, they mean when you want to keep your garden intact. you tear up the ground and build a data center, you really don’t have to worry about bamboo. if this had any sort of basis in reality, then there wouldn’t be a whole lot of cities in china, would there? I really hope none of you actually fell for this shit, because if you did then you need to seriously consider being a little skeptical of things you read online.

also, don’t go planting invasive species, we all deal with enough of those fucking up the environment already. it’s a serious crime for a reason, and that reason is it can destroy an environment and push local species to extinction, and millions or billions of those taxpayer dollars you don’t want to go to building data centers will instead be used to fix the stupid problems you created because you fell for some pseudoscience internet meme.
