    I don’t like cancelling wind projects but there are some incorrect assumptions when you just read this headline.

    The company paid $800M for a lease on federal waters to build the wind turbine. This is more akin to a refund than “pay them not to do this”. That, and the money will instead be used to build natural gas power, which is stupid for reasons mentioned in the article.

    All because they aren’t bribing Cheeto Mussolini (enough?) and the dinosaur juice companies are more than willing to slurp on a tiny mushroom…

      The renewables energy industry tends to be really good for consumers but not so great at producing the kind of concentrated wealth that enables bribery

    The dumbest part of this from their side is that they’re just postponing it anyway. Okay maybe the second or third dumbest part
