It becomes a new issue. It doesn’t take much if you live in two different countries and one is much cheaper than the other. For instance five years of work in one country can afford someone ten to fifteen years or twenty years of vacation somewhere else. So instead of retiring at 65 you could retire at 35. It also depends on lifestyle and if you have family and friends in both locations.

I’ll give a small example. A shit one bedroom in the expensive country I work in will be 1600€ per month and an alright one bedroom just out of the city and near the beach here is about 70€ per month. So on one month of rent there I could afford nearly two years of rent here. So instead of waiting until I am old to relax I do whatever I want now.

Unfortunately things like electronics and cars are the same price, typically more expensive due to the import tax

I used to work 3 12s when I was in college. It was glorious. Then the regional office looked at our schedule and decided that wasn’t allowed.

My friend also got a 10 hour a day, four day a week job, Monday through Thursday.

I have had the opportunity myself. Absolutely recommend it. It makes your Monday through Thursday like 10% worse than it would have otherwise been, but then your Fridays are 100% better.

Maybe it’s a younger generation thing where anything before 2000 is “rock”. There’s been a lot of love for 1980s new wave, tho, so I doubt that’s it.

Personally, as a middle-aged man raise on classic rock, I’m sick of it, largely because everyone everywhere around the world wants to be a rock band. Think I’m exploring French music, it turns into rock. Think I’m exploring Argentine music, it turns into rock. Fuck off.

Meh, don’t care some much about labels, except when it interferes with their purpose. Like if I’m looking for the best new rock bands and some guy is up there with nothing but a laptop… yeah. No thanks. Nothing against electronic music, I love synthwave and most 80s inspired stuff but that’s not what I’m looking for right now…

Or these metal festivals inviting pendulum or the prodigy or whatever. Okay, cool… they’re fun, they make good music, but I’m here to headbang, not for a rave. Save it for the after-party, not the headliner…

Okay, totally unprompted rant, sorry about that.
