      I think it is more of a token gesture to try placating people who are so unhappy with his current term.

        And this doesn’t even really do anything to help them, it helps wealthy people who own dispensaries in legal states, but Cleetus in red state hell with brick weed is still going to get harassed and arrested by the good ol boy cops (not that I expect Cleetus to read down past the headline to figure all of that out)

    Reminder that Trump fired Bondi so she wouldn’t have to testify before Congress about the Epstein files again. This appears to have effectively ended the last (tiny) threat of accountability related to the files, as party cooperation has broken down with the Republicans on the committee mostly shrugging and saying that it’s time to move on.

        Bondi was subpoenaed as herself, not as the AG, so the document is still valid - though it’s up to the Rs on the committee onto whether they want to pursue it.

        Yes, but: 1. most of the Republicans on the committee are saying they buy the administration’s line and want to drop it, 2. even if Bondi is subpoenaed again, the recent SCOTUS decision about Steve Bannon effectively means she can safely ignore it same as the last because Contempt of Congress is meaningless, and 3. even if she is successfully compelled, private citizens can plead the 5th.

      This is more on the educational side and how legal states can process the money. It makes the environment less of an area for crime (cash heavy buildings).

      It would also help with stupid shit like D.C… You had to buy something else to get weed! A $50 stamp and a free 1/4 oz!

    half assed sorta fulfillment of promise he was supposed to do in his first term that he did not and makes it all goofy to boot. This is like classifying tobaco without a tax stamp as category 1 and ones with as category 3. Then follows it up with a thing biden had started in his term.
