In my book, if your friends are Nazis, you’re a Nazi.

In this context, sure. But it’s also valuable to keep in touch with such people because once all bridges are burned, there is no way back. This is for people you knew before. JK is seeking out contact with them so it’s a different story.

I mean if someone has the energy for that, all the more power to them. I grew up with an abusive mother who went all in on q-anon Nazi bullshit and I legitimately just don’t have patience for people who choose such a hateful path. She will never change, and if for some reason she would, I won’t be there.

Totally legitimate. I’m thankfully not in the situation but some people handle it by not talking about politics while making their position clear. This still isn’t easy and not for everyone. I’m sorry to hear you lost your mother.

Closest I’ve ever come was a guy I had loose contact with who called my keffiyeh a “terrorist scarf” and bombarded me with racist and islamophobic BS until I said “just stop it” and left and never talked to him again. I don’t feel close enough to say I burned a bridge and certainly not the last one but I’m not in a position to judge.
