And this right here is the reason why I am so fucking cynical and believe that we are in the end times, just not the religious ones

Ever time we make small.progresses, some assholes come by and not only ruin that, but make shit a hundred times worse.

We’ve know about the first parts of climate change since 1890, I fucking kid you not. And what has humanity done? Every time we try to make it better, we end up not making it enough better as we promised, we actually make it much MUCH worse. Since the Paris accords, things have gone down hill even faster.

We gave billionaires each with their own polluting private planes and their super yachts, we have AI everywhere now even though it will kill fresh water everywhere, we…

Fuck it, I’m done. There is no stopping the stupid of humanity, so we likely will all die together within my lifetime

We are, y our current knowledge, the only planet in the universe with life, let alone intelligent life. We have 8 billion humans, give or take a few, and ee collectively allow a few ten thousand people in total rule and ruin us. It’s a fraction of people that cause the vast majority of pollution. It’s a tiny sliver of people who are behind all the wars we have.

Seriously. If humanity would just kill those ten thousands dictators, billionaires and what not, we could stop all wars, reverse pollution, start reversing climate change, and setup a socialist system where everyone can live a normal moderate life.

    But we won’t

Si I’m enjoying the last little bits of life that are left, the last few good days, for as long as they last. I’m hugging my wife close, I tell her I love her more than anything, because I do, and I’m not even telling her what’s coming. Why would I do that to her when there is nothing she or I can do about it? I’m just waiting for the inevitable end.

The first panel severely undersells the massive progress that renewables have made over the last couple of decades. And unfortunately, that just plays into the myth the things like wind and solar are weak and impractical, which is one of the main narratives pushed by opponents of clean energy.

Yeah, Texas is increasingly powered by solar and the American Midwest by wind. There’s the Scottish offshore wind farms too. In places oil is extracted, it’s increasingly the primary source of new electricity generation facilities

I changed it to AI so precisely that no one would ever know it wasn’t the original image. Well ok, I actually sloppily pasted it in with a white box, but good enough I say!

Crypto has at least two major advantages over “AI”.

    • Crypto actually exists.
    • Plenty of cryptos are quite sustainable.

I don’t give a shit about BTC tho. Just something for libs to cry about.

Except that bitcoin replaces an industry that uses magnitudes more energy than it.

      Hahaha, no. Not even close.

Especially if Bitcoin were to make the same amount of daily transactions as the industry it would “replace”. The energy consumption is exponential on that piece of shit.

The only thing Bitcoin replaces is braincells.
