He’s super nonchalant about it. This is how politicians actually feel when they know you’re struggling/suffering. There is no feeling.

Of course he is. The people at risk aren’t trump, or anyone that risks anything for trump or his family.

If Trump could press a button that would kill 10 million people, maim another 5 million, and make 50 million people go from middle class to abject poverty, in order to give him 10 billion $ and more power, he’d press that button without hesitation.

Total no brainer for him. And Americans are just letting get away with destroying democracy and destroying their freedom, and way of life, so HE can have more.

They seem upset, complain on social media, but do nothing. Not even boycotting. They just sit in their echo chambers. They dont organize. They don’t protest on congress’ front lawn, they hardly boycott, even after seeing it work for Kimmel.

The citizens of america are failing the world.

I hear what you are saying my friend… I(US citizen) am not happy with what is going on, but what can I really do to make a change? I vote, and other than that, I work 50-60 hours a week to try and support my family and try to teach them to be good and do the right things. I dont have the time or resources to go protest in Washington… Im working my ass off to suport my family. The system here sucks and was built by others before my time. Do you want me to grab my guns and go battle ICE/the government single handedly and leave my kids to fend for themselves? Im just trying to get by. I havent been to a doctor in decades because I cant afford it… I send my kids instead, because that is more important to me. So you can sit on the sideline and say I am doing nothing, but Im voting and hoping for the best, but I cant battle the government corruption single handedly while I am trying to keep my kids alive and healthy. Tell me what to do. PLEASE!!!

No one rational expects you or any other US citizen to grab guns.

We get that you personally, voted.

Unfortunately though, you and other US citizens like you are going to have to risk those jobs and that healthcare and go into a sustained national shutdown. Here is what is expected; the US citizens start doing something to fix this problem.

It’s unfortunate because those you need to lead such things and give direction, like Democrat reps, popular personalities, past presidents, none want to step up to the plate and lead it. The truth is, the administration really does reflect the nation in so many ways. A third care, a third don’t and most of that third along with the third that support are lazy, selfish people.

But no, I for one certainly don’t expect you to go out and battle ICE et al with your firearms. That’s the hardest, most awful way. The easiest was voting, the next now is a peaceful shutdown to get the houses to act. Yes it’ll be hard and yes, it’s easy for us not having to do it to say it but you’ve seen already how some nations like the French react to it, we’d be doing the same.

You’re the only ones can do it too, none of us can help here because he was elected and we couldn’t anyway. If I lived there, in your shoes, I’d start with writing your nearest Dem reps and any influential people you can to start leading it. That’s something.

You need to get together with like minded people. In real life. Find people that think like you do, and get together, and plan together. Create funding. Start meetings. Go to political get together when you can, or organize funding and donate to that. Go to freedom fighting political parties and ask to help or volunteer, or whatever to get together in real life. Sacrifice for it. Be tired for it. Miss your leisure for it. Boycott maga friendly companies. Companies want money. If trump is in power they can pay trump to let them break the law and have more money. That includes removing your rights. So, fascism is profitable for them, at your expense. No taxes, no worker rights. If you continue using their products or platforms or whatever, then destroying your freedom is most profitable to them. You need to sacrifice, and go on a fast of your favourite things to hurt their bottom line. You need to make sure what’s most profitable is freedom. Because if they attack it, nobody buys there. Or watches their shows, ir uses their social media.

You as an individual, you need to do that, even if you’re alone. And you need to tell everyone else to do the same. Only use and shop at companies dont threaten your freedom or democracy. Even if it tanks your economy. You have to be cold hearted and vicious with it. And choose sacrifice for freedom. You alone won’t make a dent. But you cant think loke that, and you cant tolerate that others do. You need to talk the talk, and walk the walk. And you need to protest in front of congress. Create funding, organize, and youll have funding to be able to go without work, or make billboards, or get buses so people can protest in Washington from all around.

Build it, and hurry up. You aren’t powerless. But even if you’re alone, act as though everyone will do as do. Encourage it, and make the sacrifice yourself.

They are brainwashing people with meta and twitter and tiktok. The big american companies are working to take your freedom. Don’t give them money. If their stock is projected to fall, it loses so much value.

If you give giving them your money, you’re fucked.

Being politically active is so much more than just voting. So many options to do more. You can write to your representatives or call them. You can donate to NGOs fighting for what you believe in. You can be vocal in your opinion on the internet or towards colleagues, friends and family. You can take part in demonstrations or even organise. And a lot of other options.

The mentality of “I vote, what more can I do” is so defeatist and a huge part of the reason why the political right wing can do what they do.

There are so many of you with this exact same sentiment on every comment related to this topic. Imagine what you could do if you were organised.

I don’t think any of us have the answer for you, aside from casually pointing out that 2A is meant for more than the classroom, and if none of you do anything you’ll be raising your kids in a fascist theocracy within the decade.

They’re actively fighting to get voter registry information. Why do you think that is?
