States have a TON of power here to nullify whatever federal bullshit is passed down to them, either by making their own state laws or using their judges and high courts to stop federal orders or block them, or sue the administration for unlawful or unconstitutional policy.
This has been happening a lot already, the administration and their media outlets don’t like talking about it because they are gambling everything on making the federal government look like the supreme, ruling command system in the US, but the federal government serves the states.
Where we’re having the most problem here is that the states electorate of representatives have been largely compromised, with only a small handful of congress people and senators who aren’t completely in the pocket of this admin’s cash-grab operation.
We didn’t do enough to secure or our local representation and leadership, so at this point if Trump signed a “rape is legal” bill and Congress and Senate passed it, only a handful of states would make an attempt to block it, and that should terrify us all.
States could.
