AI agents to reshape public opinion in a way that threatens to undermine democracy
I‘ve never understood the weird total helplessness of pro-democracy people here, can’t we, and in particular politicians simply flood the zone with pro-democracy contents too? AI, bots and outsourcing are cheap and available to everyone…
One of the core reasons neoliberalism inevitability leads to fascism and collapse is as an ideology it is entirely negative about the possibility of systematic forces of evil having any kind of systematic solution. All we can do is try to individually be better individuals ourselves and do our part.
In neoliberalism we are the noun and corporations, the ruling class, money, endless growth and unfettered greed are the verbs that change us. If we begin to organize and behave like a verb, neoliberalism acts with existential hostility and labels this “unnatural” in some way.
If you can’t make it appealing and simple, maybe you have some soul searching to do. While execution is usually complex, the basic ideas or sentiments are simple, and thus also suitable for „short attention span“. As an interesting example, the idea of complexity itself you’re describing, can be marketed in a simple way: are you smart or an easy to manipulate dum-dum? Create positive associations with double-checking, an identity around being smart, ridicule the gullible, make them feel genuinely embarrassed. It’s not so difficult.
I just generated a couple of AI images contrasting “smart and balanced” with “emotional and stupid” in about 2 minutes, and I’ll contact people with more reach than me to consider the idea. Since it’s so easy to generate I assume that everyone who likes the idea will just write the prompts themselves. Looking forward to your 2 cents as well.
Wow! So innovative! Fancy sharing with the rest of the thread?
Now that you’ve done the easy part, how are you going to spread this to the masses, to flood the zone? Against the machine of capitalism and pro-capitalist states. How are you going to get others to share your content?
How are you going to ensure your content spreads the message you intend it to, and isn’t misinterpreted? How do you ensure your simplified versions of complex subjects aren’t reappropriated by those you oppose? For example, I know people who became interested in anarchism, and ended up astray down the path of oxymoronic anarcho-capitalism despite their original good intentions.
This isn’t an easy endeavour as you alluded. If it were, then we wouldn’t be in the position that we are.

Kick him out.
No.
Right wing memes are short and appeal to biased worldview. Reality is nuanced and complex. You can’t fit that in a meme.
You can flood the internet but no one’s going to bother to read it.
Basically this:
Except the original meme had n-word instead of ‘minorities’.

I look forward to your campaign of changing hearts and minds, and turning the tide on the rise of global fascism then.

You need to calm down. The human brain is a powerful instrument of creativity when you aren’t suffocating it will all that nay-saying.
