I don’t know, I never mind if people bring up things they’re trying or into.

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard anyone bring up Linux or marathons like this, and I’ve only ever known one vegan who would. I’m speaking about IRL conversations. Even when I think back to social media posts, these things are somewhat rare still. But sure, be mad about people’s passions I guess?

To be fair, I never experienced some linux user talking about it randomly. On the other hand, ai users are so annoying! Every time they’re around, they’re asking whether we saw the latest model, which one we like the most (assuming we use, as if it was a rule, and getting shocked or skeptical if we say we don’t), and stuff like that

If a vegan does crossfit, what do they talk about first?

(Replace any part of this joke with the list above)

Never met a vegan who did that. It’s just that most omnis can’t differentiate between systemic criticism and personal insult.

As someone that has known many vegans over the years, there are definitely some that make it part of their core personality and make sure everybody knows. Most don’t but some do. Because people are people.

In my work, for years they didn’t knew I’m vegan (granted, i work mostly remotely and go to the office one or two weeks every few months, as its in a different city), but once i mentioned why i didn’t grab x item from the cafeteria menu, and just the lentils, i casually mentioned it.

Now, for some reason, that person that i was with is the one that mention to everyone in almost every conversation that im vegan, almost unprompted, when for some reason somebody is discussing about food.

I know that the coworker hasn’t been a dick and showed interest when making questions and all, but i don’t really understand why it has to announce that Im vegan if i haven’t do it nor pushed my views onto others coworkers

I’ve met many, most simply aren’t aware.

It’s funny that you mention most omnis can’t differentiate. Because if you’d shut up about being vegan, there wouldn’t even be a need to differentiate anything.

It wasn’t too difficult to bring it up, since I was terrified about the event and had to prioritize things differently to make room for training. I was also excited to learn new things about nutrition and heart rate zones for example.

At this point, I think we should officially declare that Arch isn’t Linux. To prevent kids from defaming the overall Linux image.
