They’ll never realize how insanely offensive it is for someone to say:

Now that I am effected, I recognize there is a problem. Now everyone I’ve been telling to shut up for decades now needs to shut up and do exactly as I say, if you want anything more or even less than me, you’re worse than trump.

Sometimes a hypocrite is just a person in the process of changing. Late is better than never.

I’m not really sure how to put this any simpler…

It would be like if someone was a climate change denier up to five minutes, finally gets it explained in a way they understand, then immediately barge into a giant conference full of world leading experts who have been ringing alarm bells for decades and ahout:

Paper straws, nerds! Everyone’s gonna use paper straws regardless of if they want to, and we’ll break fossil fuel production records again, if you don’t like that you hate the environment!

They still don’t really understand the problem or how to fix it. They’re just zero empathy pompous jackasses who end up driving more people away from the program.

If you’re just joining a large movement that has existed for decades and you opposed until very recently, then don’t try to be a fucking leader. Listen to the people who were able to see it coming years before you and have already been putting in the effort and time…

        Did that work?

Are you able to understand what I’m saying now?

I’m posting this with empathy. You’re upset, I am too. Let’s not take it out on each other by creating strawman just to vent, especially to others on our side.

            creating strawman

            Creating?!

Even the voting members of the DNC recognized it as a problem a year ago, that’s why they kicked neoliberals out of power…

Not only did you not notice any of that, the sheet existence of them is so foreign to you, that you think I invented them?

                Well…

For the first time in 30 years the DNC elected a non biased chair.

One who ran Minnesota’s state party for a decade turning it from purple to one of the most progressive in the nation. And for that whole decade he never put a finger on the scale in a primary. And fully backed anyone that made it to the general. He even waited till Mamdani won the primary before endorsing him and saying the DNC should emulate his campaign and policy

And within a year of him leaving, stuffs kind of going to shit, so it seems like he was doing something.

Then there’s how for that year we’ve seen the largest re-investment from DNC to state parties, with extra money going to red states because that’s where we can gain the most seats and it’s already translated to big gains in special elections…

So it working out great, you just won’t hear about the good shit from billionaire owned media

Sounds to me like you’re telling them to shut the fuck up when many others around you are screaming at them to fucking say something. Figure out a way to maximize the potential of any possible ally. If you can’t figure out how the fuck to do that, ask someone who can help you for help.

You should probably unfuck your mixed signals and work with those others to develop a more cohesive, less unhinged narrative. If you’re not a part of the solution, you’re a part of the fucking problem.

I’m saying the people who spent 30 years fighting progressives instead of Republicans don’t get to suddenly say progressives were kind of right. And then they some logical gymnastics the neoliberals still get to dictate policy.

They are more than welcome to get on the bus, they just need to “shut the fuck up” while the adults who saw this coming 20+ years ago can finally try to fix it with just Republicans fighting them and not also the neolibs.

            You get that right?

The absolute best thing neoliberals can do is literally “shut the fuck up” and vote D, the same thing they e been screeching for decades that everyone else needs to do.

It’s seriously not complicated. I know I have a habit of overestimating others, but you really should have been able to figure this out this deep in the comment chain.

These people you’re tilting at, why aren’t you finding them where they are and telling them what they should do? How many of them do you expect to find on Lemmy? Your posting here is for what? The warm fucking fuzzies?

For all the posts you’re willing to make here, you sure as fuck had better be posted up regularly in whatever YouTube channels and Facebook pages they frequent, giving them all orders of magnitude the hellfire and brimstone you’re laying down here.

Otherwise, aside from the handful of users who’ll downvote you, the only other users you’d be here for are those who upvote you. Bitch here if you feel you need to, but for every post here you make, given your apparent anger, you’d better be out there wherever the targets of your ire are setting off ten solar fucking prominences at a time.

Because if you aren’t at least doing that, the only thing you’re really doing here is bitching. Which is fine, so long as you’re honest with yourself about that. As for me, by the time I wake up tomorrow, I’ll long have since forgotten we even had this chat.

Have you been keeping tabs on everyone who has a problem with what’s going on, so that you can so confidently say that they didn’t give a shit about it before? Or do you just get off on feeling superior, and you’re prioritizing that over the need to contribute to the momentum that’s happening now?

Are you forgetting 2020, and the months-long nationwide protests that erupted in the wake of the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis? Or do you think the people who are outraged today aren’t for the most part the same people who were outraged then?

Even back then I remember folks like you complaining about how the rest of the movement supposedly didn’t care before. How far back does one have to go? Cause I guarantee you no one alive today was around to support abolition, if that’s what’s required for you to be satisfied.

You seem to be projecting though, because despite eveyone who did care when the victims were black, you seem to not care now that the victim is white. You seem more upset that people care about this than you are about the fact that someone was murdered.

“No one would care if the victim was black.” Bitch, please. There’s a recurring pattern of chasing away everyone who cares, only to complain next time that no one cared last time. You’re shooting yourself in the foot over and over again and blaming anyone who tries to help.

Thank fuck not everyone is as smug as you, otherwise no one would ever join a progressive cause. You realize in order to effect change in this system you need to convince a sizable portion of voters that you actually have their best interests in mind, right?
