I just think the empire is in a different position right now to be sparing resources for unimportant things plus Americans are largely (by now) selfish and sociopathic and simply don’t care about anyone besides themselves (not even the white kids that die in school shootings changed that!) so what’s the point in pretending? It ain’t the early 00s anymore, there’s a proxy war with Russia that ain’t necessarily going super well and another proxy war with China brewing, we can’t be thinking about our fake morality at a time like this!

For some reason, I’m disinclined to take the word of religions which sanction slavery and pedophilia (and expanded through genocide and grew stronger through murder and pillage) as the final word on righteousness.
