Food was produced to feed people before capitalism, surely. Or to trade, but mostly to feed people, rather than make a profit.

What do you think a profit is? For that matter, why do you think food turns a profit in the modern day, if not its function of feeding people?

What do you think a profit is?

To take more than you give. To make something not for the good of all, but for the good of you.

why do you think food turns a profit in the modern day

Because we are making food to be sold first, then eaten, rather than be eaten without first being sold.

I mean, it’s quite simple, really?

… and you think people making things for their own good rather than the collective is an invention of capitalism?

Because we are making food to be sold first, then eaten, rather than be eaten without first being sold.

What do you think trading is if not selling and buying?

I don’t know where you’re taking this. Can you just say what you want said instead of asking questions? This will go a lot faster with that method than whatever is going on here. Thank you.

[Food being produced for personal gain and letting the ‘unworthy’ starve] was true before capitalism, though.
