Mobile phone Debian based
6.7" with 1600x720 is crazy in 2025.
It sounds great but I have no idea what the resolution on my phone is right now. After 640x480 my brain stopped comprehension
Can’t even rent ultra porn 😒
phones are at least full-HD, so 1920x1080. computer displays too. It’s even more of a weird choice for that very large size, I imagine you can clearly see and count the pixels
my phone that came out in 2020 has better specs than this one and is so much cheaper.
I wouldn’t really care for that. OLED would be more import than screen resolution. But that surely depends on the use-case. I don’t game on it and don’t watch media. Even if I’d do, it would be fine on this tiny screen.
The screen is huge for a phone. This type of screen resolution can damage the eyes on a large screen (the lower the dpi, the greater the strain on the eyes to bring the screen into focus).
Sure sure, but it also depends on the use-case. I use mine as an emergency-phone and notifications from my own apps. Occasionally a chat. Couldn’t care less for eye strain. Besides I grew up with crt-screens that fried my retinas 😁
Crazy good or crazy bad?
Crazy terribly bad

I am so irritated by my iPhone lately that I want to love this and adopt it, but…the specs are awful, and it’s made of plastic. Ugghh. I’m so conflicted
For context I did up a comparison of my iPhone to the FLX1s

Why is dynamic island a feature? Seems like a good thing that something doesn’t have that nonsense, since the whole thing is a workaround for having a hole in your screen.
I wasn’t even sure what that was, honestly. Is that the oval space around the front camera?
Yeah exactly. The gimmick created around the fact that there’s a hole in the screen where the front-facing camera is, to mask the glaring hole like it’s a feature instead of a drawback.
“There’s a giant hole in the screen. And we think you’re gonna love it.”
“And if you don’t, then fuck you.”
Same feeling thanks for the table comparison
I would pay double for better specs. Like, clearly, because I did. This Liquid Glass nonsense feels like a gimmick from the 00’s. Steve Jobs must be rolling over in his grave. He’s probably been rolling over since all the stock buybacks started.
Same.
It’s not an iPhone competitor. What’s the point in completing 2 devices which such different prices. The iPhone is 2x the price of this thing.
you have just proven that specifications wise it’s a viable phone lol
I never said it wasn’t?
the specs are awful,
well the screen is weird, and why is this USB 2 (really, what’s behind this? the fairphone 6 got a downgrade to usb 2 too), but that’s it. oh and the plastic but I guess it depends on what kind, it can be ok
I want tap to pay. It’s thing the mainstream phones have that Linux phones don’t that I want. Well that and wireless charging.
The FLX1 had wireless charging. And a headphone jack. And a replaceable battery… 😔
Never heard of, but sounds great. I was also lucky to read “based in HK” as I feared it’d be us-based 😊
But…what about the camera? Is it worth anything?

Not high spec but the concept is in the right direction
Oh dang…that really isn’t a good selling point. Would’ve bought the older one for more instead a downgrade for the same. Why the heck… More profit? My enthusiasm is slightly dampened. Not much competition anyway 😞
This is hugely disappointing. They launched a worse all around phone and are trying to market it like good news. I was seriously considering them for my next phone purchase, but if this is all they offer when the time comes, I will have to skip it… The only “upgrade” is 2 more GB of ram, but the screen is worse (slightly bigger, significantly worse resolution), camera is worse, no headphone jack, not IP68… They also mention that existing orders for the old version are either being “upgraded” to this new version, or refunded. So it sounds like the original FLX1 is dead in the water. Very sad news.
