Given interest rates’ impact on the housing market, Trump has repeatedly demandedthat the Fed lower them. “You have cost the USA a fortune and continue to do so,” Trump told the central bank’s chair, Jerome Powell, in a handwritten note.

But Powell and other Fed officials argue that Trump’s tariffs have created ongoing economic uncertainty, especially around prices. Some consumers say they’ve already seen prices rise, and cutting rates risks fueling more inflation.

“It’s a risk we feel. As the people who are supposed to keep stable prices, we need to manage that risk,” Powell told the US Senate last month.

It used to be that there were consequences for fuckery like this. Congressional hearings, firings, resignations, getting blackballed from employment, and even impeachments. Now, it’s just another day with this inept and evil administration, and everyone just shrugs their shoulders.

What? You don’t want bad actors hacking the bees and sending them inside your ears to cause fatal internal damage? Why are you against progress?!

Currently, I have a shitty old, no-frills refrigerator, and a shitty old zero frills electric stove. And you know what? The refrigerator keeps things cold so they stay fresh longer. The stove heats to a consistent temperature every time, so I always know what to expect, and my food turns out great. Frankly, it’s vastly superior to the Fancy Thermidor gas stove I used to use, whose temperature was always hotter than the sun, or ‘why the fuck is this taking so long?!’ And honestly, the fancy whatever brand stainless steel refrigerator I used to use, used to have moisture issues, maybe because of the fancy-schmancy built-in ice and water dispenser in the door, but stuff would go bad faster in there because it was always too moist. So I guess I could get something fancier, but I think it would actually be a downgrade in terms of performance, and the only purpose it would serve would be to make me feel extra fancy. Which isn’t nothing, but I think I’ll take the practical trade-off here.

What if we made a show called…um, Star Trek: Legacy, continuing the adventures of a group of beloved characters! Nah, that would never work.

What even is “dressing your age?” There are styles of dressing that are objectively correct for each age group? Where do I look these up, along with what the age delineations are for each group?
