It is a well-known thing that browser adblockers often fail to play nicely with YouTube these days. However, even if you paid for Premium Lite, Google says it will soon push even more ads.
It’s better to name known safe options rather than leave it up to user search. The entities that work against extensions like uBO are already well aware of their existence, so hiding their names has no benefit.
Case in point - uBlock and uBlock Origin are not the same, with the former being a bastardised version that does ‘acceptable ads’. There are plenty of other poor blocking options out there for the unsuspecting to stumble into besides that.
Personal setup is Librewolf/uBO on the client and pfBlockerNG/Snort for network level blocking/additional security layer.
And welcome to .zip :) Hope you enjoy the new home!
Yesterday evening I got a pop-up that I should disable ublock from youtube. Refreshing page got rid of that but apparently it’s time for me to run some updates on this thing. I’ve seen that few times, google changes something and as I’m a bit lazy to run updates my system sometimes gives the pop up.
Or, and hear me out: just install a browser plugin and forget ads exist.
I hesitate to name extensions names, but I’ve literally never seen an ad on YouTube.
These companies don’t respect us, so I don’t feel the need to respect them by allowing them to force their meaningless bullshit down my throat.
I don’t use it that much, but you better believe if I go to YouTube to watch a video, that video is the only thing I’m watching.
This ain’t reddit. You can freely name extension names here.
uBlock Origin
Oh I know, I’ve been here for years despite the age of my account. I just migrated from lemm.ee
I tend not to like to name these types of extensions because more exposure puts them at risk, and they’re super easy to find anyway.

Thanks!
that one meme with the dude surrounded by question marks
E: or that one of Trump and another dude in chairs talking about a piece of paper
uBlock is already pretty much known as the best adblocker in the internet. Not sure what more exposure it could get.
Firefox + ublock origin + sponsorblock and I haven’t seen an ad on youtube in all the years since I started that combo.
Don’t forget about ReVanced and SmartTubeNext (for smart TVs)

They’re trying to block adblockers again, it seems. I got the “adblockers are not allowed” popup again recently.
Oh no… Anyways,
