IIRC, this was on a committee. It’s not a vote on the floor yet. Basically a smaller discussion group having conversations about legislation before it is voted on.

That’s not necessarily true. Even if they’re on the right side of an issue, calling them can still be useful by helping encourage them to continue to hold the line.
